Few leather related questions
Hello everyone reading.
I just have a few questions to help my knowledge of my leather work.
1. What is the best stiffener/backing material you would recommend? (And where to get it if possible)
2. How do you judge the length of thread you'll need? Do you measure it or just take a long piece then cut the rest away?
3.When edge creasing;
* How long would you roughly leave the creaser on the flame when doing sections?
Like you do 2 lines and then put it under the creaser again to reheat.
* How the **** do you edge crease a V shape or a corner without ruining leather?
Thanks,
Vin
P.S I'm sorry if it is just common sense to what I'm asking.

@Vollia You can try Bontex or Salpa. Or if you want to go traditional, use thin vegtan 0.5-0.6mm to stiffen.
Gluing sugar paper to leather is also a very old way of stiffening thin skins without adding much thickness. It actually works well for wallets, just let it dry under a flat weight like a paring stone or even a book.
