Help From The Community

Hi, I use snap buttons in various projects, but I find them really difficult to set in a reliable way. They look like crap, they come of, the post is too short or too long, and so on. Yesterday I concluded that it must have something to do with one or several of the following alternatives: 1. I suck. 2. I buy the snaps from eBay because I am cheap. 3. My setting tools look like they were turned on a homemade lathe by a hoofed animal, not sure what kind. Question:

What buttons and tools do you use and how do I improve in this area?
