Homemade Leather balm/wax
Hi guys and gals, hope your all staying staying safe!!
So, for a long time, I wanted to gift or sell, my customers my own wax. I sell mainly dog collars, and want to sell a small 30g/1oz tin.
I don't wonna do, something cheep, with just beeswax and oil. SO though we could maybe share our knowledge.
I have been searching a lot online, and a mix of these seems to be the best
Bees wax
Castor oil
Cocoa/Sheabutter
Sweet almond oil. BUT, I really want mink oil in there. I have been using a lot of Saphire Mink oil, and its just to good. The weather protection is unmatched! Also, I found place on Etsy, that sells perfume oils. And they do Cigar shop & gunpowder ones :D
So, have any of you tried something like this?

@Daniel Wøhlk I just had an idea and it made me think of this thread again. An alternative carrier oil that could be considered is jojoba oil. I was just using it to make some plastic free food wrap (basically cotton cloth, beeswax, jojoba then use an iron the melt it) And I thought why not try it on some leather, it won't go rancid and has a very long shelf life. Could be worth a shot :)
