@Leathercraft Masterclass Thank you very much for your answer! Yes, you could be right, that the sample is not representative for the whole hide. Good to hear that it is (should be) very similar to cow hide. Hm...so I guess I have to 'try' it.

When I see a seam in a strap, I think its because to be able to save money by using smaller leather pieces, I could be wrong of course. If I would lengthen, I would incorporate another material, like a chain or Ring - Leather - Ring. Or Fabric strap with leather ends

@Leathercraft Masterclass I only knew it after I was reading an article for shop owners. PayPal wrote that although they will pay the return shipping, the amount of people feeling save and buy will increase much more so it will pay out for them (hope this was English:) ). None of my friends knew this can be activated.

@Atte pollari I waited 6 month to get everything. I wrote very upset emails. In the last one I wrote that I know I am not alone and that my problem is discussed in leatherwork forums. Maybe that helped. I got a parcel last week. This is a Company that one should only pay with paypal and one should register for their service, so paypal will pay a refund for shipping when you send something back. I havent thought about it but maybe one should try to find places to rate this company. I think they just dont care about small artisans

I would use contact cement just to be save. This is also a barrier but more importantly its good to have a strong bond during sewing because depending on the foam it can catch the needle and thread so the sewing process can be a bit 'forcefull'. And the glueing everything in bent position will be easier.

@David Turla unfortunately I havent but you cant see, it just looks like....foam. Look at Google for 'closed cell foam'. Its just that certein foams have closed cells and others dont, just ask the supplier or look at the datasheet if they provide it.

I would suggest a foam that has closed pearls. This way its not possible that it soaks full of sweat, water etc... There is neoprene but alot of others that have closed pearls. I made a padded percussion belt for heavy drums and from this experience I would suggest to glue the padding already bent. And if you use thick lining leather you may decide that you dont need a foam for a padding.

@Leathercraft Masterclass Thank you for sharing your experience! My problem seemed to get solved as they apologized and said they will send it out the next monday. But they didnt... so I wrote again and ask for a refund. When I ordered the handle holders, they said they are only available with moq... and right after they made my order, they were available without moq - just as I expected.... anyway... anyone here to for a new start up producing luxury hardware?!:-)

Thank you, I think I couldnt make my point. The typeholder is 15mm away from the leather. One is able to let them rise it up to 35mm. I now know that there will be no difference if the press is set up properly after that change so that maximum force is available when the typeholder reaches the leather. But as I now dived into the designs of Hot foil machines I will make my own one. I planned the electronic part already and just wait for a suitable press with adjustable hight.

Thank you very much! So when I have a buckle, lock and/or handle attachment with ring (metal contacts metal), its not a such a good idea to use the laquer on brass.

I think that the lighter design is much better, less bold colors. But more importantly, the website seems to be faster too, so I will browse more frequently in the forum.

When I was thinking of a logo design for myself I found alot of premade vector logo designs. After seeing alot I saw their use on a lot of other leatherworkers logo. Most people seem to use premade illustrator logos and change them to their needs.

I never had the idea to check ebay for metallic elephant, congratulation! It looks like on the skf one ther is no grid on the plate like on the mini, is that true?

@Leathercraft Masterclass Yes, I have searched alot and they really look nice to me and as you said, the blade looks a bit thicker. Unfortunately my osborne was picked up already, but Do you know or what is your gess for a better angle? Do you think it could be a problem to change the angle? Unfortunately one doesnt find any information about the blades in the internet.
