Just thought I'd share a little project from 2018. Jubilee case in Black Yves Saint Laurent calf. Custom solid brass hardware and Osage Orange wood. When I'm in the shop I'll often brainstorm by playing with different materials, creating shapes and just seeing where it leads. This one started with the brass rectangular frame and the rest just fell into place.

Hi guys. I'm Kai from Salt Spring Island in British Columbia, Canada. I've been a leatherworker for about 5 years and design and build mainly custom leather briefcases and satchels. I come from a woodworking and design background and I've incorporated these into the leatherwork. I make all of my own brass hardware, buckles, closures and handles from scratch because I love to push the limits of my abilities. Can't wait to see all the wonderful things everyone's made!
