Card Holder with LV material

Hi all!

Ok, the story is this:

My brother-in-law had a couple of pices of LV "leather" (now we know it's synthetic material) and asked me to make a card holder with it, for him. I checked the website of LV and tried to make something similar, however my skills and knowledge is not enough (yet) and I made some mistakes in the process. Therefore, the final product doesn't look as good as I wanted.

For that reason, I would like to share with you some pictures in order to get your advice and opinions.

The material I used for this is:

- "Saffian" black goat from Alran.

- LV material called "Infrarouge", edition from 2015.

- Black nappa (splitted to 0.3mm) for the lining.

- A very thin slice of Salpa of 0.4mm (the thinnest I found available), to reinforce only the bigger panels.

- Yue Fung linen thread 0.35mm in 9 SPI.

- Edge paint Vernis 600 in black colour.

The issues/mistakes during the process:

- I don't have clear how to make the lining for 'hidden' card slots at the back, so I did what I imagined. However it resulted quite bulky and not precise when placing the cards in.

- Stitches not consistent, as the LV material makes the pricking tools slip when punching, situation that caused me several headaches.

- Some mistakes when trimming edges, so the edge finish is not as good as I would like even after sanding, heating and trying to make magic :P

I found out also that the LV piece slightly deforms after punching it, so to paint edges first and stitch after, was a mistake since the edge looks irregular.

- I used Yue Fung 0.35mm to stitch it, however I found out that it looks of a lower quality than the 0.45mm or 0.55mm sizes. I don't know if it's my impression due to the very thin diameter or it's in fact a lower quality version.

So now it's the moment when I read your comments, guys!!

- Thanks!
