Hello from Vancouver Island!

Hello all!

I've been doing leatherwork for a little over a year now, and primarily make bags. I also sew clothing, and have been sewing for about 4 years now. I have a small business selling both my bags and clothing, although it is not my primary job. My workshop started off as a tiny cabinet in the living room and has since migrated to half the basement, with various machines, tools, textiles, and leather. My happy place.

I found Leathercraft Masterclass when searching for rolled handle techniques. I was not finding great information on how to do them properly. The Lancette rolled handle video teaser popped up, and I thought to myself "THIS. I NEED to know how to make a handle that looks like this." Every video I've watched so far has been immensely helpful and I have learned so much in such a short time.

The majority of my bags are machine stitched, but my goal for this winter is to improve my hand stitching. I plan to follow along with the videos and create a De Havilland bag for myself.

Thanks Phil for sharing your knowledge with us and for creating this space for us here!

We are pretty spoiled over on Vancouver Island, that's for sure. Not too many places in the world where you can ski, hike, and boat all in one day.
