Hello, everyone! Lifelong horsewoman who always dabbled in making all kinds of tack for my model horses as a kid, so now I want to indulge myself in making tack for the real horses.
I devoured the beginner class videos yesterday - wow, what a wealth of information! And that's just the very tip of the iceberg! But it was enough to light the fire that has been simmering for years. So many projects rolling around in my brain...but I'm totally OCD so I'll happily spend time in the trenches learning a great foundation first.
The horses need nice leather halters, the dog needs a lovely new collar, and I need a gorgeous leather strap for my banjo - that list ought to be enough to keep me busy learning for a while.
I've spent today making lists, checking them twice, and placing orders. Formerly a farrier for 30 years, so I understand buy the good stuff, and you don't have to fight the tools. Retired from that now, but I still need to work with my hands to keep my brain happy.
Raising a glass to the elegant beauty of leather creations everywhere!
