Hello everyone,
Don’t know about you but, as my pricking irons have only 8 teeth, I struggle keeping the stitching line perfectly straight. I recently came up with this idea: a strip of blue painter’s tape applied along the desired stitching line score; it’s also stuck to the pounding board and prevents the leather piece from moving. So far, pleased with the results.
Great idea! How do you set up the tape to make sure it's parallel to the edge?
Thanks for the idea. I work a lot with black leather and it’s often difficult to see the stitching line. Your idea helps as long as the tape doesn’t stretch.
Thanks. Good idea! As a bookbinder, I use a low tack masking tape ALOT on my leather to help position lots of things (mainly the gold embossed titles, etc.)
