What an absolute pleasure it is to be part of this amazing community.
My name is Kiri and I am very new to the world of leathercraft, and to say that I am hooked is an understatement. I have made a few small pieces (passport wallet and luggage tags, wallet and key rings) as gifts for family and friends and now I want to get serious. I have always been partial to a beautiful handbag (or two ...) and this is the direction I hope my journey takes me in.
I signed up to the Leathercraft Masterclass only a few weeks ago after spending many, many hours viewing YouTube videos - and I am totally blown away.
Philip - your courses are AMAZING and the passion you have for your craft is clearly evident. Everyone in this community is so lucky to have access to your skill and knowledge base. Recently, I participated in a three day leather workshop with Martin Carswell in my home state of Queensland and you both have a very similar teaching style - which I really enjoy and can relate too.
One day I hope to be able to call myself a true artisan and with the guidance of the Leathercraft Masterclass, I am confident that this day will come.
To everyone in this community - you are so inspirational and I look forward to the shared journey ahead.
Oh Kiri!
I wish I was as articulate as you! I wholeheartedly concur with ALL your words! I lean towards the more classic style of Leathercraft and strive to achieve more and more of what Philip teaches in his courses with each item I attempt to create. I find his knowledge and ability to convey said knowledge to make sense to me and enable me to apply it to any and EVERY leather item I attempt to create! I am a far cry from my goal, but with Philips guidance, and the support of this FABULOUS forum I will continue to work toward the ultimate goal.... perfection is in the details.
Welcome Kiri, you will NOT be disappointed!
Cindy
