Trying Uniters EP 2000 and although they are matt finishes, I understand there are ways of polishing them to a gloss finish? I've tried heat, Tokonole, bee's wax, etc. and the paint remains matt. The bee's wax does make it glossier so I'm wondering what I'm missing? If someone can get it glossy, then goddangit so can I! :-) I gather Uniters does a glossy paint, the EP 1000 series but it's not easy to find.

I spoke to a supplier and his thought was that it's easier to go from a matte finish using a gloss-layer than it is to go from glossy finish back to matte, hence why more people use the matte EP2000 rather than the glossy EP1000. Admittedly, no one there knew why exactly, but this seemed a sensible conclusion. Mystery solved. ;-)
Hey.
You could use this:
I have personally never used it and I am always afraid of having glossy edges as I assume that the gloss will fade with time and sunlight.
Really the only reference to the EP1000 I can find is on Uniters Leather Goods catalogue which is on their website. The color-ranges are the same for EP1000 and EP2000 as are the temp. ranges, etc. I'm sure I'm missing something if we're using the matt version and then trying to wax or heat it to a glossier finish if there's a gloss version out there.... @chris.carlander Hey Chris,
Is there a possibility of showing us a picture of EP 1000 on a finished edge in good light? It doesn't have to be perfect, just an idea of what it looks like after drying with nothing done to it.
For reference I use EP 2000 which is a matt finish (although nearer satin) edge paint.
