Hi all. My name is Brontë, and I greatly appreciate the passion and knowledge around leatherwork that is shared here! I’m an expat Aussie living in Philly, Pennsylvania, and I really enjoy designing and making things, and working with people to solve a need or problem. My day job is finance, which helps fund my increasing fascination with leather craft :) I used to do a lot of couture-style sewing, and a lot of those techniques translate surprisingly well, especially the ’engineering’ and pattern drafting aspects. I enjoy designing and making small goods from scratch, such as duffels, bags, clutches , belts, organizers etc. Since I work in the corporate world and travel a lot, what I make tends to be focused on the intersection of thoughtfully useful and elegant. I’ve been making for friends and family for a couple of years now, however, am in the middle of transitioning to building a small business working with clients on custom orders (working with my first client now - exciting and terrifying! :)
I also share my work on both Instagram (mo2couture) and leatherworker.net (motocouture) (Phil - apologies if this isn’t the right place to share those contacts), and I’m more than happy to share my (limited!) knowledge if anyone has questions. Thanks all again for the dedication to the craft. Regards, Brontë
