i leave 4-4.5mm between edge and filler. drawing stitich remark line at 1.5mm-2.0mm from edge, since width of my 3.0mm-2.7mm prongs is about 1.5mm, all in total will be 3.0mm-3.5. 0.5mm- 1.mm will leave some buff for filler (if i explain clearly)
