Not wanting to come across as some kind of Hermes fanboy, but they really are the standard to which all others are judged.
Not only to their high standards of craft, but with the organisation of the company, the training of their staff and what they have done to preserve savoir faire in France.
In the mid 1970s onward, the boom of the luxury market saw brands like LV looking to overseas factories to keep up with demand.
Hermes however responded differently by training a larger workforce. If they couldn't keep up with demand, scarcity and exclusivity ensued and we all know how well that sells! Therefore maintaining quality of workmanship, as well as brand equity.
Leading the workforce, I present the Prudhomme brothers who in my mind have the correct mindset and outlook on the work that they perform at the ateliers of Hermes.
It all starts with their daily rituals, how they dress and present themselves. I'd love to share a Pastis with these guys! Very inspiring.

Phil, is the Leathercraft Masterclass a secret Hermes cult??? What did I get myself into, nooooo
Lovely video mate, and they agree with us, you wear a cravate when you are an artisan :D
