Hi everyone, I’m currently buying the last tools to get started with handstitching. What spring compass do you guys use to mark where the stitching should come? Does it damage fine (exotic, glazed) leathers or does it leave no mark when stitched? Any difference between fancy, expensive ones and regular dividers? Thanks!

Hello everyone, My name is Talitha Walakutty and I just joined the masterclass and it's forum today. I am based in the Netherlands. I graduated in 2016 for design & leather craftsmanship in Amsterdam. This consisted mostly of designing, making patterns, leather bags and several internships. I have always worked with leather using an industrial sewing machine (Durkopp Adler for many years) but this year I have decided I want to dive into true artisan craftsmanship. Nothing compares to it's luxury, look, quality and the endless possibility that comes from working with your hands. So here I am, sort of starting over again and also tweaking the knowledge I already had. I'm looking forward to connect with like minded, creative people and other leather artisans in here!
