i met similar issue when i tried on some kind of sheep hide, you can try this out: 1. not split to thickness you want once, do it gradually, skiv from 1.2 to 1 then from 1 to 0.8, and so on 2. plastic feed roller might work not welll than stone one when dealing with smooth hide.

Actually it was quite easy with snakeskin than crocs skin which i made earily.

there shoud be a heating core (a white stick inside, if you crew off the head, i will see) probably, this heating core need to be replaced

hi, it is really not worth buying from me, since shipping will cost more than the knife itself, you can make your own, Philips's blog has instructions on this knife. very simple to make, and you will be more flexible with a variety of handle materials， like carbon fiber, and even shells. for the blue one, I picked a stable wood (it is hardwood, I believe), and sanded it with high grit sandpaper, upon finishing, I also polished it with shellac to make it shiny. the brass structure I believe you can get from aliexpress (most of time, it also is shipped from china) . I will charge 20 euros for the knife itself, plus shipping, the price will be doubled I guess. once the cost of building this knife for yourself is higher than this. I can make one for you.

china, it is very easy to get all kind of hardwares in my country, 😁

i remember in Philips's belt course, he shows how to make continous stitich from one side to another side of belt for the buckle stitich, I guess this weird looking stitich could use same method. the thread is going through between two layers, then glue to layers and edge painting it makes seamless.

your dog must like “seek and hide” game 😁 but still you need to keep those dangerous tools away from your dog by the way.

haha, let me try it on my turned edge watch strap project when it arrives. ;). if I can use it dexteritiedly on small fine leatherwork like strap and box making. i will be a real master of leathercraft.:))))
