So several years ago, before I found this site, I made the mistake of buying a bunch of nice tools and then never using most of them. I'm going through the Beginner course now and would like to pair back all of my tools to just what I need to get started as I'm feeling overwhelmed. Could I list the tools here that I have for sale? If not, could someone recommend a good place to sell? Thank you.

I'm building a workbench in my RV and am researching the best wood top for my bench. Weight is an important consideration as I'll be putting it on a fold-up hinge but more important is something that is the right strength and grain for everything from cutting to punching holes to hammering. The underside of the bench will be sitting on top of a couch (see picture) for sound dampening and to diffuse the impact of punching and riveting etc. Any thoughts on the best wood (light and strong) for this project? I'm expecting it to be about 4ft long x 2.5ft deep.

In Say Hello Before Posting
I'm a complete leather neophyte, although I have practiced some saddle stitching. Been building up my workbench based on the course list here and another blog's advice. My plan this year is to ease out of the IT business I started in 2014 and move into an RV full-time. In looking for a new profession that is portable, creative and skill developed, I decided that leatherwork would be perfect. Towards the end of the year my hope is to have the workbench set up in my RV (have to purchase it first) and to get an online store up so I can sell my leatherwork wherever I go. I'm interested in small/med leather goods like watch straps, wallets, computer cases, dog collars and bags. Writing out my plan makes things feel overwhelming since I'm at the beginning, so I better get to work honing my new craft! Hope to make your acquaintance.
