Thank you so much Philip! I have one other question. What makes an awl more special than irons such as crimson hides, ks blade, or sinabroks? I have practiced quite a bit with an awl, and the holes and stitching looks good! But I feel that in comparison to a chisel, a chisel can provide a better consistency closer to that of a machine. Some people say that an awl creates a smaller exit hole, but I struggle to see that...just trying to figure this awl vs chisel thing out without having much experience (with awl) and discussion with others!
