Picked up the new skiving knife last week. Of all places, a book binding supplier. It’s a George Barnsley & sons. Since it need some edge work, I decided to do all 4 knives. 400 grit and 1000 grit diamond plates. Then a spin on the 6000 grit whetstone and a good finishing strip. Everything is razor sharp now. Thanks for the tips in the “art of the blade” Philip

Bookbinding suppliers will always have good knives. My best knife is my bookbinder's skiving knife, that I've had for years and find very comfortable to use.
@dhowells2094 Yeah that's a great knife, I still enjoy using mine regularly. 1085 spring steel apparently.
Glad to hear you enjoyed the video!
Nothing seems as good as a well loved tool as they seem to have more character than new ones. Happy skiving with it.
Not surprising at all, Bookbinders are masters of the skiving knife. Watching them skive super thin goatskin is awe inspiring and hypnotizing at the same time.
