I scaled them by 20% and used 5 feet. It's difficult to see but the bag is actually not touching the ground.

Yeah, I found the chicago would be better for my purpose. I went with 2mm mild steel instead of 3 as a test to see how it holds with time so the screws make everything easy. I might cover them, specially the inside ones in the future.

I'm looking forward to making another one. These top-frame bags are probably my favourite kind of bag (for now at least!).

Yes, good call. You seem to have used much wider steel, so 3mm isn't necessary. Saves some weight.

Tollerances seen very tight on the frame which is nice to see. I bet there's only a hair between each side when you open them!

Indeed, I used 20mm width. It's been holding well also due to the leather wrap which helps with tension, I guess.

As for the tolerances, I dare say they are perfect, but I must say I had a bit of luck with my calculations for the final set. I used your molding block and had to figure out how you came up with some of the measurements to end up with a good fit, in terms of where to drill the hinge hole and the final bar lenght prior to bending. In hindsight, it's quite straightforward but I was scared of messing up the measures and ending up with a poor fit. Good challenge. Looking forward to make another!
