I bought one because I thought that I would use it all the time. Unfortunately, I hardly ever use it. I found the angles of the shape a little weird, and so I ended up bending mine so that it would sit on the leather at a better angle to leave a better line. Even with that, it still hasn't found a regular spot on my workbench.

Quilters squares/rulers

So I use these all the time in garment making, but I've been using them MORE for leatherwork. While a plastic edged ruler is always going to come off worse against any of the blades we use, I find these excellent for lining up, and squaring up pattern pieces, finished goods etc.

Although my steel ruler has 0.5mm marking, even a small variation can create a line that isn't perfectly parallel (or square) to and edge/element of the pattern. They work best with the printed side down.

Just a note that not all brands are created equal. I've seen reviews in the sewing community where some of the printed lines are either not perfectly square and/or are slighly off in their measurement. These are the only ones I've used so I can't recommend a particular brand, but I think these are fine (?)

I also use a ruler like this, absolutely love it! Although for some reason I can’t seem to find a metric one. 🤷‍♂️

Stitching Pony the best ?

Hey, what is the best sewing pony that will not get tangled in the elements, is high enough to sew entire wallets, and can be quickly attached to the table?

I have a floor stand stitching clam made by Romanov Tools in Russia that I love love love. I got it before Russia invaded Ukraine. Now, it's very complicated to try and buy things from Russia from the US. Dream Factory makes a floor stand leather clam. My sister has one and she likes it quite a lot. Bi-Lim in South Korea also makes a floor stand and a table-mounted leather clam that is gorgeous, but expensive. Personally, I prefer not being tethered to a table to do stitching.

wooden mold for handle making

Hello to you all.

What kind of wooden mold do you use to form the handles on?

And what size is this mold?

I want to make one myself.

Kind regards,

Monique

If I remember rightly it's a half round yoga block. You can buy something similar here (in cork): https://amzn.to/4acMPo7
