Signed up for the video course two weeks ago and have been waiting for all my supplies to come in. Well they did and I spent the weekend practicing my cutting, pricking and stitching, and I decided to give a go with the Card Holder from the courses, but I modified it so that there were card slots on both sides. I'm very proud of this as the first thing I ever created, but I also see all of the imperfections along the way. I'd love to get your feedback and constructive critique is definitely appreciated by this newbie.

The first project is always very special! I love the navy/yellow color combo!
Welcome to the addiction Keith. There are no brakes on this train!
I'm genuinely impressed. Exotics on your first project is like learning to drive in a Lamborghini š¤£ Not easy! So well done. Navy and yellow really work here too.
Welcome down the rabbit hole Keith š š¤£ I look forward to seeing what else you make.
Hey Keith,
so your first project and you use alligator... you are bravest than many heroes I know :D
Honestly, everything looks good from a technical point of view. The construction, skiving, etc. As Daniel said, the only things to improve are things that need practice: Edge paint (just a little bit) and then the stitching both in term of consistency of movements and tension when pulling, and also in how straight you are pricking.
But you should really be proud of what you made. For a first project, it is perfect. And i will also tell you what people who are not crafters will find it perfect too!
Why not add a creasing line all around to give it an even classier look?
Hey Keith, I think you have done amazingly well and that you should be proud, you should of seen my first attempts *shudders*. Your top edge looks really well finished and I love your colour choices. All of the elements are there and with a little practise you will get things perfect. Stitching is one thing that has a huge impact on how a finished project looks, ensuring equal distance from the edge and that it's nice and straight it will really elevate your work. It's all just practise and that's the fun of it really, each time making something better than the last.
Did you enjoy making it?
