Hey all!
Saying Hi From the Sacramento Area of California.
My interest in leathercraft originated with my interest in cars (mostly vintage sports cars) with their leather interiors, and their fitted luggage sets from companies like Schedoni. As someone with a DIY mindset and a long appreciation for fine leather goods, I thought I'd try my hand at making my own.
I started with the idea that a coaster set would be a good beginner project. I bought a cheap amazon tool set, a leather panel, and found an oversimplified youtube video. Boy was I humbled! The edges didn't look good. The stitches didn't look good. The coasters didn't look good. I had some learning to do. After searching google, youtube, and instagram, I found Leathercraft Masterclass. I'm still very much a novice, but am getting a better grasp of the fundamentals and working to continue building my skills.
My goal with these learned skills is to make my own bags, cases, and small leather goods.
Hello Kris and welcome to the forum! I hope you have fun getting to know the people here and you learn lots too.
The luggage sets from Schedoni are beautiful! It really is a luxury to have a bespoke set of luggage for a nice car.
