Greetings all,
my name is Maurice Goguen and I live in the Yukon Territories, Canada. I’ve been doing Western style leatherwork as a hobby for about 20 years and as a small side business for about 8. My work has been mostly with knife cases (for a local knife maker), tooling, D&D dice towers and custom work for customers, mainly with veg-tan leather.
I’ve been wanting to branch out and do European style leather work recently, but there hasn’t been much online instructions regarding it. Wallets, bags and men’s accessories are the field I want to get into. Laced edge wallets are not my thing at all, machine stitched wallets are a step up but still don’t impart that high end look I’m looking for. This course is giving me the instruction I want.
After watching the Technique of the Edge, my skiving has improved 100%. I had a custom made skiving knife that just didn’t seem to work. Now with a few adjustments learned it works like a charm! I am very happy with the purchase of this course.
I’m still binge watching all of the videos and can’t wait to start these projects to build my skills. Thank you Philip for taking the time to create such great material.
@dm Hello Goguen, Thank you for the nice introduction! Welcome to the forum.
It's really thrilling to hear that the courses have made such a positive impact on your craft, so thank you for sharing that.
I hope to see some items you have made soon!
Happy to have you here.
Philip
