Hello All!
My name is Misty - I am from central Wyoming. I grew up on the big cattle ranches (400K+ acre ranches) in Northern Nevada where the buckaroo lifestyle is still going strong. My dad and stepdad were cowboys so leather was/is apart of my everyday life since...forever. My grandfather and dad were rawhide men - they made their own reatas (rawhide ropes) and romal reins. I married a cowboy and since wages were sparse we couldn't afford to buy our own gear, so I began to make them. I started out with chaps and everything in between before I moved up to saddles.
I want to refine my work and I am glad I stumbled onto Phil's podcast! I am looking forward to learning so much more!
Welcome Misty!
It's so great to have you here and thank you for taking the time to introduce yourself.
Your story is fascinating! I always like to hear how people got into the craft.
It's so interesting to hear about all the different paths people came from to arrive here.
Enjoy the Forum :)
