Hello - my name is Grant, and I'm new to this craft. I have a full time day job as a Software Systems Architect working in the cancer treatment industry, and have a history of working with both manual & cnc machine tools and industrial automation (many years ago). In my personal life, I'm a father of two very energetic boys that keep me pretty busy most days.
I'm excited to start a journey into leather working, and am taking my first steps at a slow pace. I have found myself in my spare time learning about the different types/styles of leather work, about the basics of the tools and techniques, and have started deciding which tools to acquire to build a workshop.
I look forward to getting to know this community!
Hi, Grant. I live down the road in Columbia, Missouri. Great to know of a kindred spirit just a hundred miles away. Dale
@Leathercraft Masterclass Thanks!
I can't say I haven't thought about making tools! But, it helps to know what the tools do, and how they work before introducing them into a market!
@gpstl Hey Grant, welcome to the forum.
Sounds like you have a great background for actually making tools!
