Hi! My name is Jenny and I retired early/young from the fashion industry in New York City, and moved down to Florida during the pandemic. In NYC, I was a technical designer for womenswear — making the designer’s idea/sketch come to life through patternmaking and technical specs, and conducting fittings on models. Now that I don’t work anymore I get to spend my days doing all sorts of crafts, mostly sewing/patternmaking and drawing & painting, but I’ve been interested in transferring these skills to leather working. I love working with my hands to create things!
My intro to leather was actually shoemaking (a few years before the pandemic), which I enjoyed, but I found that I loved working with leather more than making shoes, so I watched some videos and read some books about leather working. I’ve made a few pieces (a watchband, a wallet, etc.) but I really want to learn the skills that will enable me to create beautiful watchbands, bags, and boxes. I’m very excited about these courses and I can’t wait to delve into all aspects of leather crafts and get to be a part of an interesting community of craftspeople.
Hello Jenny,

Please enjoy it here, we had a great community and I hope you learn lots.
