Hi All
I was very excited to come across the leather craft site while doing some hot foil machine research (unrelated to leather!). I've no leather experience but want to immerse myself into the leather world and feel this could be a great place to start.
I've 10 years eCommerce experience. the main products I've developed & manufactured (in China) are Sweaters, journals and silk pillowcases.
I'd like to take some time to play around with leather and hand make my own products ( My dad used to make leather pouches for car keys) I'd like to be able to make some gifts for friends etc. With the stress of daily life I feel this could be a great way to unwind.
My biggest question to all of you is where exactly should I start?
Look forward to your replies
Fabio
Welcome Fabio. I bought a kit from Amazon that looks similar to the ones you've posted but from a different company. I don't use many of the tools anymore because they are not that good. I've never used Wuta but have heard good things about them from lots of makers.
Hey Sam,
Welcome here and most importantly welcome to your new addiction :D
Like the guys said, a card holder, a small pouch, small keychain, all of these are goods starting projects. Lots of leather supplier are starting to sell "Start/Beginner sets" where you have the basic tools you need with pieces of scrap leather to work with, I think this could be a really good start.

This shop is located in the UK, maybe this could help :)
Welcome, Fabio!!! I am pretty sure you will love working with leather :)
Agree with Samuel, starting with a small card holder / wallet will give you an idea and some practice to start. Once you see all what you can do with your hands, you will not stop!!!
Cheers,

Hi, Welcome!
A good place to start could be a small card wallet. They offer a chance to learn and practice a lot of the basic skills and dont require a heavy investment in amounts of leather.
Good Luck!
