Hello everyone!
I have two spools of yellow 532 and 632 Lin Cable Fil Au Chinois thread and they are exacty of the same thickness!! I think I have the same problem with 432 and 532 Ecru but have to test again.
Do you once have the same problem? I am wondering if its an inconcistancy or if it was just labled wrong.
Also I have the impression that the yellow thread is not as tight and firm as darker colors. Do you have the impression too?
Thank you very much!
Kilian
@kilian I have seen them close in thickness, but never exactly the same size. Likely a mislabeling issue. Can you send it back?
I can't imagine an example where they would require looser cabling on a particular colour.
If you have noticed looseness on your 632 yellow, that would explain why it measures thicker and matches your other 532 spools. Is my assumption correct regarding sizes? If so, you may have a quality control issue.
I will say however, the best way to measure thickness is with a gauge that has it's own consistent tension (spring). If you are measuring using a gauge that requires your finger pressure, this can vary wildly with thread as it's so compressible.
